MUNICIPAL WASTE announce new album and release first single

Equipped with a crushing sound that will implode both your soul and skull, Richmond Virginia's MUNICIPAL WASTE barrel back onto the scene with their latest piece of toxic detritus, Slime And Punishment. The sixth album will be released on June 23rd via Nuclear Blast Records.

Head to to listen to the first single, "Amateur Sketch"!

Ryan Waste states, "We've been getting punished for the last five years by people asking for a new album. Now we're here to return the favour with an aural onslaught of speed metal punk. Enjoy a taste of slime courtesy of the Waste."

"We're sorry this took so long" comments vocalist Tony Foresta. That was our bad. It feels good to be back musically kicking you in the balls... and or titties."

Order your copy of the album digitally on iTunes and Amazon Music and receive a download for "Amateur Sketch" instantly!

Slime And Punishment is the first Waste album to be engineered by bassist Phil "Landphil" Hall at Blaze of Torment Studios in Richmond, VA. Mixing and mastering was completed by Bill Metoyer (SLAYER, W.A.S.P., LIZZY BORDEN and DARK ANGEL) in Hollywood, CA.

The cover artwork for the sixth album was created by the bands good friend, Andrei Bouzikov. This is the fourth cover he has created for them as he was responsible for the art for Massive Aggressive, The Art Of Partying, and the split with TOXIC HOLOCAUST - Toxic Waste.

AMORPHIS part ways with bass player Niclas Etelävuori

Last week, melancholic metallers AMORPHIS returned from touring North America with their countrymen SWALLOW THE SUN. The band now prepare for several shows in Russia, European festivals as well as supporting Danish rockers, VOLBEAT across the continent. To bridge the gaps between these open air shows, AMORPHIS have also announced eight headlining shows in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland and Denmark. The band's whole tour itinerary can be found below.

But sadly, there is also some bad news, as the band announces today:

"Dear all,
We just arrived back home from almost an 8 week North American tour that was a great success in many ways. A humble thank you to all who came to the shows and meet & greets to tell us that we were truly missed last 8 years. Next tour will take place much sooner, that’s for sure.
There are a lot of things happening right now in AMORPHIS camp but the saddest part is that our dear brother Niclas Etelävuori has decided to part ways with AMORPHIS. His decision has nothing to do with the band, no bad blood, no hard feelings between us so it is better that you read his statement and thoughts below. It’s really hard to describe the feelings everyone is going through right now, especially when we have worked as a family with him for so many years. People should understand that AMORPHIS has always been a democratic band and it’s pretty obvious that not all choices can please everyone. Some people don’t get along with each other, that’s life. The focus and all decisions have still aimed for the greater good and only what is best for AMORPHIS. We will continue with our current management as we feel that there is no distrust between us whatsoever.
Even in these circumstances the show must go on, so we are happy to announce that our old friend and original AMORPHIS bass player Olli-Pekka (Oppu) Laine is going to play the forthcoming shows and festivals with us. It’s been a long time since we played together but it sure is going to be nostalgic and great fun. Rest of the year continues busy as we are now heading to Russia after couple of weeks and from there to Radio Rock (FIN) cruise before the festival season starts. "Under The Red Cloud" tour will end in September and after that we start to work on a new album. We’ll keep you informed about that later on.
Most of all, we want to wish Niclas nothing but the best in the future and he will always remain as a close brother to us.

Shine on!"

- TomiJ, Esa, TomiK, Santeri, Jan

Niclas Etelävuori also states:
"Hello everyone,
I'm very very sad to inform you that after 17 years I've decided to leave my duties as bass player of AMORPHIS. This is probably the hardest decision I have ever made in my life. I still love the music and the guys and the crew are still my brothers and I wish them all the best in the future. There's absolutely no bad blood between us.
The reason for my departure is 100% due to the (mis)management of the band. It probably sounds crazy to most of you, but that's how it is (music business can sometimes be very complicated). I got the guy his job back in the day and now I only heard lies and bullshit for the last many years, I just had enough so I gotta go. I can't work or live like that. It is pretty obvious to me that the manager only works for his own best interest not for the bands best interest, and that's not how it should be.
Strange enough for me ”most” of the band still wants to continue on this path so I better find another one.
We all gotta do what we believe in and I don't believe in our manager anymore. I have left the door open if the band would decide to change things.
Staying true to yourself is most important in life and that's what I'm trying to do, you only live once and life is too short for bullshit. I could probably write a book about it but I'll save that for later - now I'm too tired and I have to look for a new job.
I'd like to thank all the fans, companies, people I've met and worked with all over the world over the years, it's been a blast. I hope we meet again some sunny day.

Regarding to the management, the band comments:
"We don’t feel that there’s any distrust between band and management. It seems that issue is purely bad chemistry between Niclas and our manager. We don’t have any proof or whatsoever that our management has lied or other ways tried to ruin our career. Everything is better than ever, there’s so much great things going on and happened with AMORPHIS so it’s really hard to find reasons why to change the management. AMORPHIS is democratic band and decisions are based on everyone's opinion. Obviously we can’t agree to change things upside down just because someone threats to leave the band.
This is a really sad decision and we truly hope all the best for Niclas. Despite his decision he will remain a really close friend for us."

We’re delighted to announce that, following the release of one of the year’s biggest and most critically acclaimed albums in ‘Emperor Of Sand’, Atlantan metal behemoths Mastodon will be headlining this year’s Metal Hammer Golden God Awards in association with Orange Amplification – one of only two confirmed live shows they have in the UK this year, the other being the main stage at Download Festival.

Taking place at the IndigO2 at The O2, London on Monday, June 12, and with a capacity of just 2,000, the Golden God Awards show will be one of Mastodon’s most intimate performances in years, as one of metal’s most celebrated bands make their Golden Gods live debut.

A very limited number of tickets are available for just £10 and go on sale at 3pm on Friday, April 28. These are being sold on a first come, first served basis and once they’re gone, they’re gone! Go to and don’t miss out!

“We told you we had something special planned, and trust us when we say this is going to be very special indeed,” says Metal Hammer Editor Merlin Alderslade. “We wanted to bring something truly one-off to the IndigO2 as a way to say thank you to our amazing readers for the support they’ve shown us this year, and Mastodon are not just one of the biggest bands we’ve ever had play our awards, but one of the greatest metal bands of this or any era. Expect minds to be blown, heads to be banged and beers to be raised. See you down the front.”

Opening the show will be riff veterans Orange Goblin, one of the UK’s most vital and important metal bands – and a group of men who seriously know how to throw a party. Following them are one of the most unique bands in modern metal, Sweden’s Avatar, whose catchy industrial metal stomp is backed by one of the most enthralling, theatrical live shows in the scene today. Also joining this year’s bill are the mighty Clutch, stoner rock legends and one of the greatest live bands heavy music has ever seen.

For more than 30 years, Metal Hammer has been the biggest heavy metal magazine on the planet, and this would not have been possible without our incredible, passionate community. The Golden God Awards is our chance to raise a glass with those very fans while celebrating the great and the good of our world. Forget your sit-down dinner, this event is voted for and attended by the fans.

Fozzy frontman and WWE megastar Chris Jericho – who also appeared at this year's Wrestlemania event in front of 70,000 people – will be coming straight from playing this year's Download Festival to host.

DREAM EVIL Launch 'Antidote' video/single off upcoming 'SIX' album!

Swedish powerhouse Heavy Metal group DREAM EVIL are getting closer to the release of their sixth album, aptly titled “SIX”, coming out on May 26th, 2017 via Century Media Records.

Therefore, the album’s second single and video for the track “Antidote” are being launched today. Check out the entertaining clip directed by longtime partner in visuals Patric Ullaeus / (In Flames, Lacuna Coil, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, etc.) here:

The single can also be found here:

DREAM EVIL have checked in with the following comment about “Antidote”: “When it comes to choosing a single for SIX you need to have a song that ‘punches’ the fans in their faces. “Antidote” is just that type of in-your-face-punch-song, so for us the choice was natural. And don’t forget that Metal is not just music, it's a way of living…as you clearly can see in the video!”

Previously, the album’s opening track “Dream Evil” was also debuted with a video by Patric Ullaeus, to be seen here:
And the song can also be streamed here on Spotify:

A previously launched album trailer for “SIX” can be seen here:

The album’s standard tracklisting is as follows:
1. Dream Evil
2. Antidote
3. Sin City
4. Creature Of The Night

12. We Are Forever

Succeeding 2010’s “In The Night” release, “SIX” has been once again produced by DREAM EVIL guitarist Fredrik Nordström at his own Studio Fredman facilities, which is obviously the birth place of many modern Metal masterpieces by bands such as In Flames, Arch Enemy, HammerFall, At The Gates, Dimmu Borgir, Powerwolf or also Architects and Bring Me The Horizon.

The album’s front cover, which can be seen above, has once again been created by Gustavo Sazes / (Arch Enemy, Amaranthe, Firewind, etc.).

May 26th will also mark the release date for the groundbreaking third DREAM EVIL album “The Book Of Heavy Metal” for the first time ever (!) on vinyl. DECAPITATED To Release New Album 'Anticult'

Polish metal extremists Decapitated have revealed details of their upcoming seventh album Anticult, out July 7 via Nuclear Blast. The band has also dropped the new song "Never,": which is available as an instant grat track for all fans who pre-order the album. Anticult is available for pre-order here:

Anticult highlights just how vital Decapitated have remained two decades deep into their career. Decapitated have long been undeniable masters of their craft and they are expanding their parameters with Anticult, which should elevate the band's profile beyond the death metal realm in which it has dominated for years.

"Anticult represents the legacy and future of Decapitated," said guitarist Vogg. "We're extremely proud of the record, in both the song compositions and the production. This is the best representation of our music and we're really excited for the world to hear it!"

The album's massive musical leap forward is evidenced by "Never." It's a song with an incredible bite and retains Decapitated's signature fury. But it's also undeniably catchy and takes up residence in your brain and stays there.

"'Never,' the first track we are showcasing from the record, is fast, it's technical, and most importantly, it's heavy," Vogg commented. "For us, it's what Decapitated is all about… and it will be really fun to play live. Enjoy it!"

Vocalist Rasta weighed in about the subject matter of "Never," offering this insight into the lyrical content: "There is no mystical, doomish fate waiting for us. The only judgement pending is our own. The simple relationship between cause and effect is what determines our future. We are now witnessing something that should never have happened — our homes have become our civilisation's grave."

The band will announce U.S. tour plans shortly.

Anticult Track Listing:
"Kill the Cult"
"One Eyed Nation"
"Anger Line"
"Earth Scar"

 Check it out here -

WEDNESDAY tells us "I'm really excited for you all to see the video for 'Blood Sick'. It was all shot on green screen with director Matt Zane. The song is about a spider torturing a fly in its web before devouring it, and I wanted to try and capture that scenario with the band in a giant spider web. I had this vision in my head when we first wrote the song and it's so cool to see it finally come to life."

The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Chris 'Zeuss' Harris (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed) and the sleeve artwork was created by Travis Smith (Opeth, Katatonia).

Avenged Sevenfold Launch 'God Damn' Video & Tour With Metallica

AVENGED SEVENFOLD have teamed with Billboard for the premiere of their new video, “GOD DAMN.”  Directed by Anders Rostad, “God Damn” was shot in a Los Angeles warehouse filled with fans. You can see the making of the video HERE.

“God Damn” is taken from the band’s latest album, THE STAGE, which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Rock, Hard Rock and Alternative Albums charts, No. 4 on the Top 200 and debuted Top 5 on iTunes in over 35 countries. Q called it ‘their boldest album yet’, while NME praised its ‘lyrical sophistication’ in their 4/5 review. The Guardian felt it was ‘exuberant, preposterous and colourful” and Kerrang thought the band were ‘confounding expectations with such a grandiose and ambitious album’. Classic Rock called it a ‘metal masterpiece’.
