THE 69 EYES Release 'Jet Fighter Plane' single / teaser and announce new album

The 69 Eyes are currently still in the studio with producer Johnny Lee Michaels in his Helsinki-based Bat Cave Studios. Their 11th studio album titled ‘Universal Monsters’ is due for release in April 2016 through Nuclear Blast Records. The first single and video from the record will be released on January 15th, 2016. It is called 'Jet Fighter Plane' and the video for it was directed by Ville Juurikkala, known for his work with Nightwish, Amorphis, Michael Monroe etc.

You can watch the 'Jet Fighter Plane' teaser HERE.

“The song has a dark early 80’s kind of vibe. I wrote the lyrics with those Cold War-era times in my mind. Strangely the world has totally returned into those dark days again after recording the song,” says The 69 Eyes vocalist Jyrki.

“It’s been some 15 years since we recorded the ‘Blessed Be’ and ‘Paris Kills’ albums with producer Johnny Lee Michaels here in Helsinki. You can consider ‘Universal Monsters’ as a follow-up to those records. Nobody makes this kind of music anymore.”

The Helsinki Vampires will be touring in support of the new album, stay tuned for announcements.

A message has been sent by The Clergy, a message that bears good news for believers…

GHOST will be coming back to the UK in March to play an extremely special seated show at London’s legendary Palladium– the world famous theatre situated in the heart of the West End.

This announcement comes as the band are part way through a full European headline tour, hitting British shores in December to continue to spread their message. Latest album, ‘Meliora’, released via Spinefarm Records in August, has been met with huge critical acclaim, and has performed incredibly well in charts around the world, reaching No. 8 on the US Billboard Chart and No. 23 in the UK.

The London Palladium first opened its doors on Boxing Day 1910, and has since been home to many of the theatre world’s most famous productions, including The Sound Of Music and CATS, plus one of UK TV’s most watched programmes, Sunday Night At The Palladium.

For Ghost, this is the perfect opportunity to present a one-of-a-kind experience fully exploring the music, the visuals and the core elements they stand for.

The show comes as part of a European run, but is the only UK date.
2nd March 2016 – The Palladium, London

Tickets go on sale Friday, November 27th and are available here

Reckless Love will return to the UK for a run of eight headline shows in March 2016; these dates, the Finnish showmen’s first over here since December 2014, will be in support of a brand new studio album, set for release via Spinefarm Records in February of next year(date tbc). This will be the fourth album under the Reckless Love banner, following on from 2013’s ‘Spirit’ – a Top 3 entry in the Finnish charts.

As ever, Reckless Love will be striking a blow for hook-heavy rock music of the more colourful kind, and this time around they’re bringing like-minded reinforcements in the shape of fellow Finns, Santa Cruz. The Helsinki-based outfit, also signed to Spinefarm, have thus far released two studio albums, the most recent being their self-titled outing from earlier this year. Santa Cruz have just dropped their latest (and hottest) music video, ‘Let Them Burn’, which gives an incendiary indication of what UK fans can expect next March.

Keep warm with ‘Let Them Burn’ here

Between the shows in Nottingham and London, both bands will be heading across to mainland Europe to further plant the flag for real rock ‘n’ roll based on core values i.e. well-crafted songs delivered with skill and the all-consuming desire to entertain; rock ‘n’ roll inspired by the ‘glory days’, but with sights set on the future…

The UK tour dates are as follows:-
04.03.16 Thekla, Bristol
05.03.16 Slade Rooms, Wolverhampton
06.03.16 Key Club, Leeds

LOST SOCIETY new album 'Braindead' out in February

Finland based ‘braindead thrash metallers’ Lost Society are very pleased to announce the publication of their third record entitled‘Braindead’.
The album is set to be released on February 12th, 2016 via Nuclear Blast.

Guitarist/vocalist Samy Elbanna states:
"A lot has happened since the release of our second album; we've played loads of sick shows and we've definitely matured as songwriters and as musicians. We're beyond stoked to announce our new album ‘Braindead’! I'd have to say that this album truly shows what Lost Society is all about, and it's filled with the tightest, heaviest and most aggressive stuff we've EVER done. This album has the slowest songs and the fastest songs we've ever done and one thing is for sure: this will make you wanna go crazy! The album title itself is a portrayal of us in many ways, ‘Braindead’ has come to be another way of saying Lost Society, and it came to us as a natural decision to make it the title for what we feel is the best material we have ever made. Ladies and gentlemen, the times of a ‘Braindead’ revolution are upon us!"

Founded in early 2010 by thrash/speed metal enthusiast Samy Elbanna in the Finnish town of Jyväskylä, the front man gathered an ensemble of passionate allies around him to establish a band that should soon become known as the most energetic up-and-comers the scene had seen in years. With their highly acclaimed debut album ‘Fast Loud Death’ released in 2013 – when the guys were still in their teens - Lost Society rapidly rose to fame and caught the attention of veterans such as Kreator and Testament. Subsequently, 2014‘s ‘Terror Hungry’ saw the pack further enhancing their trademark blend of speedy boozing anthems and moshy mayhem in the vein of Anthrax, Pantera and Municipal Waste, resulting in numerous shows and festival appearances all over Europe.

DEVIL YOU KNOW cancel remaining European dates

Unfortunately Devil You Know have had to cancel all remaining dates of their European Tour with Papa Roach and Five Finger Death Punch including the scheduled London date this Saturday at Wembley SSE Arena.

The band have commented:
"It is with much regret and disappointment that we are forced to announce the postponement of our remaining European tour dates. The well being of the band members, crew and of course the fans is absolute priority for us and in the wake of the recent tragic events and ongoing threats throughout various parts of Europe we had to make this very difficult decision to ensure everyone's safety. This is a very fragile situation which none of us have ever faced before, please know that our entire team did their very best to make the continuation of this tour possible despite the increasing daily concerns and uncertainties. The past month has been an amazing experience for us performing to sold out crowds across much of Europe and Scandinavia with our Brothers in Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach. We are honored that we were able to play for so many of you and make countless new friends on this tour, it's a disappointing end but we will return to make up for the shows as soon as possible! Your support means the world to us and we look forward to seeing you all very soon."

Papa Roach have also announced they are pulling out of this tour with hopes to reschedule the dates. Five Finger Death Punch will play Wembley on Saturday with new supports Skindred, As Lions and The One Hundred.

Enter Shikari are today happy to finally be able to announce the opening artist on their The Mindsweep Tour UK 2016 shows.

Alongside US label-mates The Wonder Years, the band will be joined by The King Blues who today announced the reformation of their original line-up.

Longtime fans and friends, the bands have previously played together on a number of occasions (this King Blues line-up supported Enter Shikari on their full 2009 UK tour), and Enter Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds had this to say on the subject ;
"The King Blues are such an important British band. With music influenced by many different genres and cultures, and lyrics that represent and reinforce the people. Its great to have them back.
We had a blast when we toured together a few years back, so can't wait to go off galavanting around the country with them again.
And for all those folk (usually the grumbling, weathered and out of touch) in the media asking “Where are all the bands with something to say?” Well, here's three bands who - even though they approach it from different directions - create music that stems from punk; and carry its spirit, its invigorating power, and its willingness to engage with issues both personal and social".

SYMPHONY X Announce support bands for European tour 2016

World Management and Symphony X are pleased to announce the complete line-up for the ‘Underworld Europe Tour 2016’.
Support will be coming from Tunisia’s fantastic progressive rockers Myrath and from France the incredible Melted Space.

Symphony X states:
“Together we are excited to offer what we feel will be a great night of live music for the fans and hope to see all of you at these shows.“

Symphony X will bring their masterpiece ‘Underworld’ to the following UK cities:
w/ Myrath, Melted Space
(inc. ticket links)

In July this year, Symphony X released their critically acclaimed, chart-entering ninth studio album ‘Underworld’ via Nuclear Blast Records.
They triumphed in creating a panoramic ‘album rock’ experience in an era cursed with diminishing attention spans.
This opus certainly deserves to be presented live on our UK stages.

More on ‘Underworld’:
Heavily inspired by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri, ‘Underworld’ draws on the themes from Divine Comedy most notably the part on Inferno. As homage to Dante’s use of the number 3 and its multiples, the band utilises this motif in its music either in a lyrical or melodic context. The first song on the album is a three syllable, three note melodic phrase, and in the verses there are three references to three songs on the bands third album, The Divine Wings Of Tragedy.

You can purchase Symphony X’s latest album ‘Underworld’ here:

A distinct murmur went around the world in 1994 when a certain six-string guitarist from New Jersey named Michael Romeo of the prog band Gemini recorded ‘The Dark Chapter’ demo and sent it out to record labels. It seemed the new guitar messiah of the coming 21st Century had made himself known to the world and he’d soon launch a new band that would stir up the prog genre. With an innovative mixture of heavy metal, progressive rock and neo-classical sounds, Romeo and his men in Symphony X recorded a debut album (released in Japan in ’94; released worldwide in 1995) that began their journey to create a blueprint for the young generation of prog metal bands to follow. ‘The Damnation Game’ (1995) celebrated the debut of the band‘s second asset: the charismatic, deeply emotional and relentlessly aggressive vocals of Russell Allen.

‘The Divine Wings Of Tragedy’ (1997) placed the emphasis on the band’s progressive approach and is considered to be Symphony X’s ultimate masterpiece. ‘Twilight In Olympus’ (1998) livened up the band’s classical aspects with the instrumental ‘Sonata’ (which is based on the piano Sonata No. 8 ‘Pathétique’ by Ludwig van Beethoven). Via ‘V: The New Mythology Suite’ (2000), the quintet delivered their first concept album at the turn of the millennium that dealt with the myth of Atlantis. ‘Live On The Edge Of Forever’(2001) was visual proof that the band could easily transpose their complex material onto the stage. Oriented towards the eponymous poem by English poet John Milton, the thrashing harshness of ‘The Odyssey’ (2002) is said to be the band’s most aggressive album to date. ‘Paradise Lost’ (2007) is the darkest and most gothic-like work in the band’s discography. With‘Iconoclast’ (2011) Symphony X raised the bar even further, a commanding declaration of an inventive blend of classic rock, straightforward heavy metal and ambitious prog.

DARK FUNERAL – new studio album in 2016

With the release of the 'Nail Them To The Cross' single earlier this year, Swedish black metal masters, DARK FUNERAL, are now preparing the release of their next studio album.

Mastermind Lord Ahriman comments:
"Cold winds are blowing over Scandinavia and the winter will arrive very soon. The world is bleak and dark days await.
During the past months we have been forging the foundation of what will become the new DARK FUNERAL album. Music and lyrics are falling in place, piece by piece.
The actual plan for the release is also slowly taking shape and everything has finally started to move. We aim to hit the studio in early 2016 and to have the actual album in your hands during the first half of the year! More info to follow...”

Album PreOrder Date: November 20th, 2015

Platinum selling metal act DROWNING POOL have unveiled the first new music from their forthcoming new album. By The Blood is the first taste of new album Hallelujah, the Texan bands 6th record and heaviest batch of hell raising anthems to date.

"We're excited as hell to get our brand new single out to everyone!" says guitarist CJ Pierce. "Back to the core sound you know from Drowning Pool! Crank it up! ."

With countless world tours both headlining and as special guests of rock royalty like Ozzy, Motley Crue, Kiss and System Of A Down, Drowning Pool have never taken their foot off the gas. Signature classics Bodies and Tear Away, with over 50m views to date between them, set the tone for a career that has seen them sell over 1m albums.

Produced by Jason Suecof (Deicide, Trivium, Death Angel) the new record, the follow up to 2013's 'Resllience' is described by singer Jasen Moreno as a; 'bad attitude record', but ultimately one fuelled by the bands reignited hunger for what they do.

The core trio of C.J. Pierce (guitar), Stevie Benton (bass) and Mike Luce (drums) mine hardship, struggle and disappointment to emerge victorious each time, crafting empowering hard rock anthems. Drowning Pool songs conjure emotions that deeply connect with those who persevere against the odds and sacrifice to survive.

Jason Moreno’s powerful vocals enabled him to quickly master Drowning Pool’s dense catalog when he became the band’s frontman in 2012. From his reverent delivery of the late Dave Williams mosh-pit ready lyrics in the ubiquitous signature hit "Bodies” to his powerful take on Top 5 Active Rock hits like “Step Up” from Desensitized (2004), “37 Stitches” from Full Circle (2007), and “Feel Like I Do” (Drowning Pool, 2010).

Wolfmother announce new album 'Victorious'

Wolfmother will support VICTORIOUS with a headline tour of North America set to kick off February 24th at First Avenue in Minneapolis (see full itinerary below). For UK fans, if you pre-order the new album VICTORIOUS from the UK store ( you’ll receive exclusive details to forthcoming announcements before they’re available to the general public. For more information, please visit

Wolfmother recently teamed with popular enhanced colouring book app Recolor to give fans the opportunity to create their own colorized version of the VICTORIOUS album art. Fan submissions can be viewed HERE. Recolor was created by premium photo app developer Sumoing.

The follow-up to 2009’s Cosmic Egg and 2014’s New Crown, the much-anticipated VICTORIOUS is an electrifying testament to the range and depth of songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Andrew Stockdale’s artistry. Recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles with 2X Grammy winning producer Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Chris Cornell, Bruce Springsteen), the songs are edgy, inventive and uncompromising and rank among the band’s best ever.

Stockdale began working on the record this past January at his Byron Bay studio in New South Wales, writing on every instrument and embracing the same creative approach he used on the band’s debut album a decade ago.

“Back in the early days, I’d play guitar, bass, and drums and then present the ideas to the band and we’d work on the arrangement together,” he says. “I thought it would be cool to get back to demoing ideas by myself and playing everything. It’s a good way to do things because it can make the style more cohesive.”

In addition to vocals, Stockdale played guitar and bass and brought in Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Bruce Springsteen, A Perfect Circle) and Joey Waronker (Air, Beck, REM) to split drum duties.

“We wanted to get back to that big sound,” says Stockdale. “The album is a balance of garage-y energy and big production. It’s wild, energetic and,” he muses, “perfect for a festival main stage.”

Wolfmother first made its mark in 2005 with an eponymous debut that was exactly what rock & roll needed: a meaty, beaty, big and bouncy genre resuscitator that not only broke through to the mainstream, but broke big. The album was certified Gold in the States, UK & Canada and 5x-Platinum in the band’s Australian homeland. Lead single ‘Woman’ hit top ten on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks Chart and won a Grammy for ‘Best Hard Rock Performance.’ Their songs became ubiquitous, appearing in films (Shrek,Jackass, Due Date, The Hangover I, II & III), video games (Need For Speed, MLB: The Show, Saints Row) and television commercials (Apple, Mitsubishi).Rolling Stone named it one of the best albums of the year, Q Magazine called it “immense fun,” NME said it ticked “the requisite boxes for all great rock & roll” and called it “utterly, utterly thrilling” and Pitchfork praised the songs for striking “a balance between meaty vintage metal and crisp, stoner-rock melodies.”

Led by Stockdale, Wolfmother have amassed a global fanbase, played to packed-house crowds around the world, delivered show-stealing sets at star-studded festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Isle of Wight, Rock am Ring and Reading and Leeds, and have been invited to share stages with rock icons Aerosmith and AC/DC. For their induction into the UK Music Hall of Fame, Led Zeppelin personally invited Wolfmother as their guests (the band showed their appreciation by delivering an electrifying cover of ‘Communication Breakdown’).

Ten years after their arrival, Wolfmother have returned with what could arguably be called their best work to date. With VICTORIOUS, Stockdale once again arrives right on time: in an era dominated by single-song downloads, this is an album worthy of repeat listens from top to bottom.

Don’t miss your chance to catch Wolfmother live. Tour dates are as follows:

Four headliners plus over 50 great bands and DJs will perform across the two days, there will be a great range of food outlets and a glamping option for those who like to do festivals in style!

With ample room for expansion at the new site, Hevy is set to reclaim its title as the UK’s best medium sized out-door festival in 2016. Although change is exciting, it’s not without a heavy heart that Hevy moves on from Port Lympne. Festival Director James Dutton reflects on the festival’s partnership with the wildlife park and their great charity work together:

“Hevy Fest has been held at Port Lympne since 2010. During that time we’ve raised over £100,000 to help fund the incredible work The Aspinall Foundation do in protecting and re-populating the world’s most endangered species. It’s been an honour to work alongside their dedicated team, but 2015 marks our last year at the site.”

The animal reserve is currently undergoing transformation into a day trip & holiday destination. With various construction projects underway, the land is no longer a suitable venue for a music festival in 2016. James continues:

“Searching for a new site has given us the opportunity to explore a more central location in the UK, which is something our fans have been requesting. Our new home at Newhaven, Derbyshire offers much easier access from all corners of the UK, and a stunning setting for our small festival. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store…”

Tickets are priced at £79, with a small batch of early bird tickets still available. There is also a pay monthly finance option should you wish to spread the cost. Purchase tickets here:

Due to the location and date change, existing ticket holders can contact for a full refund if they are no longer able to attend.

Evil music industry trolls killed off that most British of traditions - the Christmas Single - with their sickly singing competition winners. They stole Christmas from the Kidz, and The Darkness will not accept this!!! The lineage of Christmas songfoolery has included many greats, and The Darkness’ legendary 2003 single ‘Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bell’s End), put the band firmly in the frame as a Christmas staple, alongside stuffing and unacceptable jumpers. The band have taken the long-overdue fightback into their own hands and have recorded a brand new song for your yuletide delight. ‘I AM SANTA’ is a jingle fest in their own inimitable style and is released (of course) on Christmas Day.

The super-festive video for the single was recorded in Los Angeles while the band were on tour in October. The Darkness borrowed a time machine off of the Back To The Future people in order to make the video in the 1980s, and bought up the ENTIRE stock of fake snow from Hollywood's special effects dealers. There is a special prize if you can spot the celebrity disguised as a cheerful Santa figurine!

As previously announced, to celebrate this momentous event, the band’s latest album ‘Last Of Our Kind’ will be released on 20th November 2015 with 4 new tracks: ‘Messenger’, ‘Always Had The Blues’, ‘Million Dollar Strong’ and ‘I AM SANTA’.

The Blast of Our Kind tour will commence on November 28th in Norwich and culminate in a triumphant show at London's Roundhouse on December 20th. It is the first, and a golden, opportunity for enthusiasts to see The Darkness on their own stage in support of the latest album ‘Last of Our Kind’ and their first tour since 2013. The band have just completed tours in the US and Australia and head to Europe in the New Year.

The Hawkins Brothers, Frankie Poullain and Rufus Taylor are The Darkness.

ANTHRAX - "For All Kings" album cover artwork unveiled

ANTHRAX will release their long-awaited new album, 'For All Kings', on February 26, 2016 via Nuclear Blast.

Says ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante:
"The cover art for this record is again done by Alex Ross, who is probably one of the greatest artists living. And he did our previous covers."

He continues: "My idea for this one was to show this hall and these huge statues of these kings - who, of course, are us - and trying to tie in the last album cover with these creatures who are drawn into this room with our ANTHRAX 'A.' This one, you'll see those creatures in this hall kind of trying to reach up at these kings. We tried to tie in the last two album covers with this album cover. And when you see it, it's beautiful. It's grandiose. It just has this beautiful look to it. And, yeah, it's gonna be a great album cover."
