CRADLE OF FILTH | Win a chance to support the band on the forthcoming tour

Barbarous hellhounds Cradle Of Filth are set to hit the road in October for an extended run of dates across the UK and Europe. The band recently announced Ne Obliviscaris as the main support for the tour but they are now on the look out for openers for the shows. Teaming up with Metal Hammer, the band have launched a competition for local bands from each territory that the tour visits to join them on the road. Vocalist Dani Filth commented on the competition: "This is a really cool idea that has worked for us previously touring in Australia, wherein Ne Obliviscaris won a slot, and now they're special guests to the entire tour and playing festivals all round the globe. It is also reminiscent of the chance we were given by others to play in our early days as a band, so it's an honour to pass the opportunity onto fresh talent. Plus we get to check out a huge bunch of up and coming music, as do the magazines sponsoring this, so all-in-all its a win/win situation. That is of course unless you lose! Still, worth the punt methinks, these shows are going to be adrenaline-fuelled rushes of pure raucous Metal insanity, for sure!"

Head over to Metal Hammer to be in with a chance of being involved in this unique opportunity:

The tour is in support of the band's new release, 'Hammer Of The Witches'. The album was brought to fruition in Britain’s Witch County, in darkest rural Suffolk at the reputedly haunted Grindstone Studios. The album’s title is named after the ‘Malleus Maleficarum’, a medieval document of guidelines regarding the persecution and torture of witches - but Cradle Of Filth’s title version is more retributory: It’s the Hammer Of The Witches; the hammer is in the witches' hands and it's payback time.

Ahead of their UK headline tour this winter, pop punk heroes Zebrahead have today unveiled details of a new full-length studio album called ‘Walk The Plank’ , set for release through Rude Records on October 13th.

The album of heavy punk mixed with hooky pop songs was recorded in Buzzbomb Studios, Orange County with long time friend and old writing, recording and touring partner of band member Dan, Paul Miner.

On the album’s title, Ben Ozz comments:
“Touring all the time and traveling can be a bit of a pirate's sort of life so it fits in that sense. So in a way to us it's about taking a chance in life and walking the plank of life. It could also just be too much rum in the Mai Tai also but that's another story!”
he continues...
“It's one of our best sounding records to date! We wanted it to sound like you're in an arm wrestling competition at the beach while doing a keg stand! Hopefully it'll take you on that journey before the ice in your cocktail melts!”

The first taste of what’s to come can be seen in the form of this lyric video for ‘Save Your Breath’…

‘Walk The Plank’ follows the recent split EP ‘Out Of Control’ with Man With A Mission that impressively charted at number 1 in the Japanese iTunes rock chart and number 2 in the overall physical chart for the whole country.

Scottish tech-groove metallers Neshiima are proud to present their brand new EP Beware of Gifts today.

The EP, first premiered via Deadpress, is a unique concept centred around the Japanese myth of Urashima Taro, where tech metal-inspired riffs and soundscapes collide with rap metal to create a dynamic and vibrant release - reminiscent of Hacktivist, Skindred, Monuments, and more. Split into three sections, the Beware of Gifts mini-album emphasises the circularity of life through this myth - a compelling tale with many layers.

A relatively young band, Neshiima in their current lineup formed in January 2015. The band’s first ever show saw them supporting Skyharbor in Glasgow and since then Neshiima have performed alongsideUneven Structure, Malefice, Nexilva, DJ Lethal (ex-Limp Bizkit) and more. The band smashed UK Tech-Metal Festival 2015 (Friday’s Afterparty stage) and have a UK co-headline tour - dates below:

Catch Neshiima:
28/09 - Bristol, Stag and Hounds
29/09 - Birmingham, The Flapper
30/09 - Newcastle, Head of Steam
01/10 - Glasgow, Ivory Blacks
02/10 - York, The Duchess
03/10 - Manchester, Factory

Beware of Gifts Tracklisting:
1) Beware of Gifts from a Dragon Princess
2) Those Who Suffer
3) Above the Storm
4) Taken By The Tide
5) The Cycle
6) Become The Ocean
7) So Easy
8) Play Your Part

Artistically imperious, instinctively forward-thinking and remorselessly creative, Satyricon have long since earned the right to be hailed as one of black metal’s most important and influential bands. And now they are to revisit the album that raised them from underground heroes to bold contenders on the world stage… the timeless and towering Nemesis Divina. Satyricon will return in 2016 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this seminal masterpiece, with a never-to-be-repeated series of exclusive European shows, wherein the Norwegian trailblazers will perform the album in its entirety for the first and last time.

“It’s not what we do and it won’t happen again!” avows frontman and creative mastermind Satyr. “This band, as you know, is definitely not retrospective. But we started playing live in 1996. Our most groundbreaking milestone record came out in 1996. Nemesis Divina is the only one of the first three records that has aged really well. It’s the only one that we still play several songs from in our set to this day… so if I’m ever going to do anniversary shows and do a reissue and make it a big deal, it’s gonna be Nemesis Divina and it has to be now.”

When Satyricon released their third album in 1996, their status as one of the most significant and creatively vital bands in Norwegian black metal was already beyond dispute. But Nemesis Divina was no ordinary record or just another step along the road to infamy. Instead, this was a revolutionary and groundbreaking piece of work from a band that had suddenly hit their stride on every conceivable level. From its uniquely vibrant and impactful artwork, which broke every supposed rule in the black metal handbook with its vivid colours and refined aesthetic core, to the supremely confident and idiosyncratic songs and individual performances that heralded a newfound sophistication and a freshly incisive vision,Nemesis Divina almost single-handedly took black metal from its voluntarily shadowy and obscure origins into the glaring spotlight of the international metal scene. There are many classic albums to salute from the Norwegian scene of the early 90s and while the likes of Mayhem, Darkthrone, Emperor and Immortal undoubtedly share Satyricon’s esteemed position in the genre’s spectral hall of fame, it was arguably Nemesis Divina that most vigorously announced the arrival of this arcane musical phenomenon to the rest of the world, destroying the notion that black metal was an entirely self-contained and inward-looking subculture in the process. Most of all, however, Nemesis Divina showcased a band that finally had the skill and the musical intuition to back up the undeniable potency of their artistic vision. Sonically devastating and compositionally meticulous, songs like Mother North and The Dawn Of A New Ageredefined what black metal was capable of, while proudly retaining the genre’s ageless essence and aesthetic values.

“Everything expanded tenfold with Nemesis Divina,” Satyr states. “For most people who liked the first two records, Satyricon climbed to a whole different level on Nemesis Divina and people really started to love the band. This album has a special place in our history. Suddenly we were selling 80,000 and then 100,000 records, and those numbers were unheard of in our small part of the world. That was the record that everyone that was into this scene wanted to buy. If you say there are two stages of evolution in black metal – the 80s, with Venom and Celtic Frost and Bathory, and then the 90s with the Norwegian stuff and everything followed in its wake – there are, at most, a handful of albums and a handful of songs that really define modern day black metal. Nemesis Divina is definitely one of those records and Mother North is definitely one of those songs.”

To herald the 20th anniversary of this most illustrious piece of dark art, Nemesis Divina will be re-released in spring 2016, newly remastered by Satyr himself and boasting upgraded and revamped packaging worthy of an album that has had a huge and enduring impact on both the black metal scene and underground heavy music in general. Satyricon will then embark on a series of exclusive one-off shows, performing the record in full for the first and only time.

“Next year its 20 years since Satyricon made its live debut as a band, and 20 years since we released Nemesis Divina,” Satyr states. “I thought ‘Either we do multiple shows, re-release the album and do it properly…or we don’t do it at all’. «So here we are. We’ll be performing Nemesis Divina, front to back, doing only a few exclusive shows in 2016 and we look forward to sharing this unique experience with our loyal fans."

´77 – reveal cover and track-listing for 'Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us'

’77 are proud to present the cover of their upcoming album 'Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us', which is due for a release October 30th, 2015.

The album was produced by Jaime Gomez Arellano who has worked with diverse artists such as Paradise Lost, Ghost, Ulver or Cathedral. You figure this might sound too heavy for fans of real Rock’n’Roll? Wait until you get to hear the first track and you’ll be turned into a real believer that this was a match made in Rock’n’Roll heaven!

Gomez comments on the recording: "Working with '77 was a brilliant journey back to... well... sort of 1977! We decided to take our trip back in time very seriously and didn't compromise on anything. First, we worked very hard on a pre-production, then went to record the album on an all-original 1976 Neve desk at Music Lan Studios in Spain. It was all recorded live using vintage drums, guitars, amplifiers, microphones and classic analog outboard units - all to analogue 2 inch tape. In most cases we kept the first take and we did no more than two takes per song. We then mixed in my Orgone Studios on my SSL desk and mastered it to 1/4 inch analogue tape. The result: an exciting, energetic record where I think we managed to capture the spirit of '77."

Artistically and aesthetically deeply rooted in the Seventies the Valeta brothers Armand Valeta (vocals and rhythm guitar) and LG Valeta (lead guitar) founded ’77 (pronounced Seventy Seven) as a direct reflection of the concept of the era they love. Over the past years ’77, who are hailing from Spain, didn’t just make a name for themselves with their studio recordings, but particularly with their high energy live shows that secured them countless European tours with the likes of diverse bands such as Bullet or Audrey Horne.

The tracklisting of “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us” reads as follows:
1. It's Alright
2. Tonight
3. Come & Join Us
4. Street Dogs
5. Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now
7. Tightrope
8. Still Waiting
9. No One Like You

12. We Want More Rock And Roll

MOTOR SISTER announce first ever UK tour in January

MOTOR SISTER who feature Mother Superior founder, guitarist, and vocalist Jim Wilson fronting the band, with Anthrax's Scott Ian on guitar, Pearl Aday on backing vocals, Joey Vera on bass, and John Tempesta on drums have announced they will hit the UK for the first time ever in January 2016 to play ten in-your-face shows. And they can’t wait:

Jim Wilson - "Motor Sister in the UK! Get down and get with it!"

Scott Ian – “Motor Sister was born at a crazy party in the jam room at our house, just the five of us rocking our asses off. And now we get to bring that party to the UK!!! It's a privilege my friends! See you soon.

Pearl Aday – “We love the UK. No better place to start bringing Motor Sister to the world. We'll see you there, friends! Cheers, love, rock.”

MOTOR SISTER was originally assembled to jam for Scott Ian's fiftieth birthday party. Thanks to Scott's wife Pearl Aday, who has been working on her solo career with Mother Superior front man Jim Wilson for years, all it took was a quick phone call and the stage was literally set for Scott's dream gig.

Enthralled at the idea of making a record of his favorite Mother Superior songs, Ian emailed producer Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Steel Panther) and asked if he thought it was possible to recapture the same spontaneous energy MOTOR SISTER generated at their makeshift gig, and if an album could be recorded quickly.

Ride was released to great acclaim earlier this year on Metal Blade Records and debuted on the Billboard charts after its first week of release. The album cracked the top 10 with the #9 position on the Billboard New Artist (Heatseekers) chart.
