Despite being on the cusp of performing the first of their several high-profile UK festival appearances (topping the bill on the second stage at Download Festival this coming weekend), Enter Shikari have unveiled a run of UK dates in “big rooms” for the start of 2016.
Taking in some of the band’s biggest (non-festival) headline shows of their career thus far, the dates start with a pair of relatively intimate Scottish dates, then heading down the country before ending with a 10,000 capacity show atLondon’s legendary Alexandra Palace.
Joining Enter Shikari as special guests for this run will be North American label-mates, The Wonder Years (openers for the shows are still TBA).

Enter Shikari released their fourth full-length studio album - The Mindsweep- via Ambush Reality / Play It Again Sam (Hopeless Records in North America) in January 2015, giving the band their fourth UK Album Chart Top 10 album.
Since release, the band has toured the world in support of the album, taking in sold out UK & Europe dates (culminating in two packed nights at London Roundhouse, the first of which selling out all 3000 tickets in less than 12 hours) a 6 week tour of the USA & Canada, a short run in Australia and, most recently, two massive headline shows in Russia.
The band’s most recent single, Torn Apart, has spent three weeks on the BBC Radio One playlist thus far, and saw the band recording their fourth Live Lounge for the station (including a cover of Muse’s ‘SuperMassive BlackHole’) as well as releasing a video for the track that looks like THIS :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xndh_CwGCn8
Frontman Rou Reynolds had this to say on the subject of the tour :
“It’s difficult to summon the words, we’re inexpressibly excited for these shows!
Before booking an ‘arena-sized’ tour we wanted to wait until we were able to book as many 'flat-floored' standing venues as possible up and down the UK, as there’s nothing rock ’n’ roll about sitting at a gig 100 meters from the stage. As much as is possible, these venues should feel like normal Shikari shows but swollen in size - the communal aspect of the shows should still stay intact.
I also can’t tell you how much we’re looking forward to getting back into the sweet shop of production and lighting so we can make this a total assault on all the senses.
We will also be doing a pro bono public service by testing the structural foundations of each one of these venues to their limits with our sub bass speakers.
We’re really happy to have The Wonder Years out with us, too, and can’t wait to announce the full bill.”
Plans for more special releases are afoot. Watch this space.
