VADER Announce a UK exclusive special set show this September supporting Venom Inc.

Vader are very pleased to announce that they will be playing a UK exclusive show this September 21st at the Scala, London.

They will be performing a special classic 1985 – 1990 era old school set.

Vader will be supporting Venom Inc. who performed their debut live show this week at the Keep It True festival in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany.

Venom Inc. will also be playing an old-school set performing songs from their classic albums; Welcome To Hell, Black Metal, At War With Satan, Possessed, Calm Before The Storm and Prime Evil.

Playing first on the bill that night are UK thrashers Divine Chaos.

Death metal legends Vader released the ‘absolute heaviest’ studio album of their career last year, according to frontman Peter W.

The album in question is ‘Tibi Et Igni’ which was released globally via Nuclear Blast Records to widespread critical acclaim.

There is some contention as to the beginnings of Vader, but the truth is that they began in the autumn of 1983 by Piotr ‘Peter’ Wiwczarek (‘Bardast’ and later ‘Behemoth’ back then) playing the bass and the guitarist Zbyszek ‘Vika’ Wroblewski. Extreme metal was about to be born in Poland and Vader were among the pioneers of that genre in the newly emerging underground – and the only band from that era still reigning! The first crucial point in the band’s history was their participation in the first Polish heavy metal festival – Metalmania in 1986, where they played to an audience of around 5000 persons.

Vader recorded their first official material in 1989 in Olsztyn which became the 4-track demo ‘Necrolust’. This was their first studio release that reached beyond the Polish borders and earned them some excellent reviews across the globe. They released the demo‘Morbid Reich’ in 1990 which eventually gained the status of being one of the bestselling metal demos in history. ‘Morbid Reich’was also the first release to host Vader’s now infamous logo.

In Hearts Wake have unveiled an epic new video for the track 'Badlands', taken from their forthcoming ambitious album 'Skydancer' - due for release May 4th through UNFD.

“Badlands is a modernised western tale of the ever-classic and symbolic feud between cowboys & Indians. Written from the perspective of native outlaws, “we will make a stand” against the invading miners who destroy the Earth only for personal gain. We recently saw this first-hand whilst driving through the invasive Texas oil wells that drain the planet 24/7 in search of profit." - Vocalist Jake Taylor

Earlier this week, The Byron Bay band also released the video game Sky Hoppers, through which fans can unlock an exclusive new song from 'Skydancer' called 'Insomnia' and enter a competition to win a rare test pressing of the album, along with the track 'Erase' (feat Hacktivist).

Having been featured in Kerrang!, Rock Sound, Metal Hammer and honoured with the prestigious title of Rockest Record In The World by Dan P Carter at Radio 1 (for lead single 'Breakaway'), In Hearts Wake are set to become one of the scene's breakthrough bands. GWAR Announces "30 Years of Total World Domination Tour"

Thirty years have passed since GWAR awoke from the prison of their Antarctic slumber in 1985. Since that time, the band has used broadswords and guitars to shape the music and culture of mankind. 30 years later, the world sucks more than it ever has, and humans have GWAR to thank! Three decades of bloodlust, throttling the life from humanity, and perverting the human imagination have left no doubt that GWAR rules supreme!

What better way to celebrate this momentous occasion than with a spectacular victory lap bringing death and depravity to cities across America? GWAR's "30 Years of Total Domination Tour" is a celebration of unimaginable torment. Expect more blood and bodily fluids than ever before as your Lords and Masters take on the newest threat to their very existence - the Internet! That's right, GWAR is going to kick the Internet's ass; if they can ever stop jerking off to porn long enough to find it. Pustulus is none too pleased about the situation, having this to say while "taking 5" from his weekly schedule of drawing dicks on bible pages.

"I've survived prisons, gulags, religious protests, surfing a crucial wave on D-Day, and even an ISIS spaghetti dinner, so this is nothing. Bring it on! GWAR is coming! Where is Baltimore?"

Support on the tour will come from Butcher Babies and Battlecross. The tour kicks off August 25th in Millvale, PA and wraps up September 18th in Rochester, NY. Tickets go on sale this Friday May 1st for all shows!

ENTRAILS: New Tune From Swedish Death Metal Militia Goring The Airwaves Of Bloody Disgusting

Obliteration To Drop Next Month Via Metal Blade

Obliteration is the fittingly-titled new studio offering from Swedish death metal militia, ENTRAILS. Set to rise from the grave next month via Metal Blade Records, Obliteration boasts nine diseased tracks of audio repugnance that uphold the truest traditions of old school Swedish brutality.

As a precursor to its official release, today popular gore portal, Bloody Disgusting, delivers the flesh-eating rumble of seventh track, "Midnight Coffin" for communal ingestion. Elaborates guitarist Jimmy Lundqvist, "It's about time to unleash some ENTRAILS madness! The sick melodies and d-beat will have your head fall off and roll into the midnight coffin. Join the hordes and let death and darkness embrace you. Welcome to the cemetery!"

Adds Bloody Disgusting, "'Midnight Coffin' is a rasping, forceful lump of oldschool Swedish death that pulls no punches. It reeks of cemetery miasma and exudes horrific images. It's 100% absolutely meant for the horror metal fan and you should pay heed."

Delight in the sonic deviltry of "Midnight Coffin" HERE.

Obliteration was tracked by Jimmy Lundqvist at his own Bloodshed Studios and mixed and mastered by legendary musician/soundsmith Dan Swanö (Edge Of Sanity, Bloodbath, Aeon, Hail Of Bullets etc.) at Unisound.

Featuring members of Birdflesh and General Surgery, ENTRAILS celebrates the teachings of Dismember, Grave, Entombed and Tomas Skogsberg's Sunlight Studio alumni with a mutinous air raid of buzzsaw riffs, bestial vocal tirades, earth-rumbling rhythms and repugnant tales of suffering, doom and the undead with the expert brutality of their forefathers. The band was initially forged in 1990 by Lundqvist but disbanded prematurely due to his dissatisfaction with their initial demo recordings. Half the lineup went their separate ways while Lundqvist continued to write music until 1998, when ENTRAILS officially went dormant. It would be a full decade before the band would ascend from the grave when Lundqvist found the band's early recordings in an old tape collection and decided they deserved to be released as they should have been originally. With modern recording technology, the first two ENTRAILS demos - Reborn and Human Decay - finally took shape.

The band unleashed their menacing Tales From The Morgue debut in June of 2010. The album featured songs from both newly recorded demos and was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö. 2011's delightfully repugnant The Tomb Awaits full-length would follow. The record reaped critical adoration from media outlets globally with No Clean Singing noting, "although massive distortion is (of corpse) the name of this game, Lundqvist enhances the morbid fascination of the music with near-clean, Dismember-ish, reverberating guitar solos that alternately slither, writhe, and moan seductively. Indeed, all of the multi-faceted guitar tones and riffing techniques on this album, and the way in which they're balanced in the mix with the gut-punching bass and the drum-kit attack, are near-textbook representations of how this genre of music should sound."

ENTRAILS joined the Metal Blade Records roster in March of 2012, crumbling the stages of numerous festivals throughout Europe (Party.San, Summer Breeze etc.) that Summer before composing 2013's ravenous Raging Death full-length. It was then that Lundqvist moved his studio into the woodshed where it all began in the '90s. The new/old surrounding inspired Lundqvist to write material like never before. Released later that year, The New Noise crowned the record, "an absolutely perfect slab of catchy, violent Swedish death metal," while Stereogum commended it for being, "perfect for blasting, banging, and bashing." Added All Music, "What comes through right away is the guitar tone, with its perfect blend of thickness and crunch feeling like a portal to the days when the fat distortion that was the backbone of Swedish death metal was (and perhaps still is) the heaviest thing to come out of an amp. Immediately afterwards you're hit by just how punishing the album is. These songs aren't here to dazzle you with their speed or virtuosity. Instead, they offer up the fat slabs of classic riffage that seek only to crush the listener under their immense weight, bringing a muscularity to the table that's hard to fake."

Dubbed "one of the more vital and warranted demo collections to be made available" by Metal Injection in an 8/10 review, ENTRAILS dropped the Resurrected From The Grave - Demo Collectionlast Summer. The mammoth eighteen-track offering delivers the band's Reborn and Human Decayrecordings - the now infamous demos that started it all - in one venomous helping. And now comes the time for a new chapter in extremity with the audio disease of Obliteration.

Obliteration will see release via Metal Blade Record on May 19th, 2015. For preorder bundles as well as a taste of first single, "Beyond The Flesh," visit

UK based metallers DragonForce were caught up in the recent civil unrest in Baltimore on Monday (27th April) evening as they warmed up ready to hit the stage on the first show of the North American leg of their Maximum Overload World Tour.

The Soundstage in Baltimore where the ‘Force was meant to be playing with US band Kamelot was two blocks away from the rioting, but the violence was getting ever closer.

Guitarist Herman Li said “We thought it was a little weird that all the local shops were closed, in fact the only place open was the venue with a massive queue of fans still trying to get in. As we were warming up ready to go onstage we heard a State of Emergency was declared and the show immediately postponed due to the safety of the fans”

The show has been rescheduled for today, Thursday 30th April with doors opening early at 6pm and the end of the show being 10pm due to the citywide curfew imposed by the authorities for the entire week.

All tickets purchased for the original show are valid.

Anti-Flag have revealed the lyric video for the song "Sky Is Falling".
Watch it here:
The song lives on the band's upcoming Spinefarm debut, American Spring, out May 25. The song and the clip address an extremely topical issue—drone strikes.

In the wake of recent events, where an American and Italian citizen were killed by drone strikes, the song arrives at a critical time in the current government administration. While the media has spent a significant amount of time covering the jokes that were made at the White House Correspondent's Dinner over the weekend, many Americans remain appalled by what happened in the Middle East, which is why "Sky Is Falling" is such an important song and even more crucial political statement.

Here's what the band had to say about the song and the drone strikes.

"We release this song and video days after President Obama apologized for a drone strike that inadvertently killed an American and an Italian being held captive by al Qaeda in Pakistan. President Obama did the right thing by apologizing to the victims and their families. But otherwise, his apologies fall short of the target.

"We call on President Obama to extend his apologies to victims of U.S. drone strikes who do not hold U.S. and European passports. Furthermore, we demand an end to the U.S. drone program.

"There are countless innocent victims, families and communities whose lives have been devastated by illegal, out of control, and unaccountable U.S. drone strikes. This onslaught of aggression is sold to the American people as a surgical strike program that combats terrorism and makes the U.S. safer, when its net total result is neither.

"During the Vietnam War, U.S. soldiers were under orders to win over the hearts and minds of the Vietnamese people while simultaneously ordered to burn down their villages. For obvious reasons, this policy was a failure. U.S. drone policy is no different, turning innocent people who would otherwise not be in opposition to America against the U.S.

"This policy is immoral, unethical and unproductive. Amnesty International has questioned the legality of the U.S. drone program in relation to international law.

"This song focuses on the fact that dropping bombs on people's heads is terror, regardless of who is dropping those bombs. Be it a high tech U.S. drone firing munitions without warning or a suicide bomber detonating an explosive vest without warning, instruments of terror are those that keep a civilian population on edge due to the constant threat of attack."

Read what Amnesty International is saying about drones and get involved.

The band has also confirmed a new batch of tor dates that will keep them on the road through release date and beyond.

Ricky Warwick - Lemmy Sings "Summertime Blues" with Ricky

In 2014, Black Star Riders/Thin Lizzy vocalist Ricky Warwick decided to record two new solo records, funded through the popular Pledgemusic crowd funding system. The results are two fan and critically acclaimed releases, “Hearts on Tree” and “When Patsy Cline Was Crazy (And Guy Mitchell Sang The Blues)”.

During the campaign for these two albums, Ricky would record updates for those that supported him in the campaign. Staging most of these recordings in the stairwell of his home in Los Angeles, the fans quickly dubbed Ricky as the “Stairwell Troubadour”. Ricky’s acoustic covers of a number of tracks became very popular among the fan community. So much so that when the two solo albums were completed, there was a lot of feedback asking him to consider recording some of these covers for a release.

So, early in 2015, Ricky launched a new campaign to fund his album of covers. The best part was that the fans get to choose the tracks that are included on the album from a selection Ricky put together. One of the tracks that has already proven itself quite popular is the Eddie Cochran classic “Summertime Blues”. Working on a wave of studio born inspiration, Ricky thought that the sound would be perfect with an addition from an old friend. Enter Lemmy from Motorhead. Ricky toured with Motorhead when he fronted The Almighty and Lemmy and Ricky have been friends ever since. So when the call went out for Lemmy’s participation in the “Stairwell Troubadour” album, he didn’t even hesitate.

Ricky tells us about Lemmy’s participation, “To have such an iconic performer be a part of this album is a dream come true. I have loved Motorhead for decades and having Lemmy contribute to my solo release is a big one off of my personal bucket list!”

Ricky’s campaign for the “Stairwell Troubadour” album is an ongoing process. You can check things out by visiting

Following on from their triumphant return to the Metal scene in 2014 - London's SikTh have decided to answer the calls from their fans and record new music in 2015.

"We've always maintained that more music would emerge one day and for the first time in years it feels like now is the time" says guitarist Dan Weller.
"We had an amazing time travelling round the World last year. Having a chance to reconnect with our fans was very special for us".

The as yet untitled EP will be the follow up to the 2006 critically acclaimed album 'Death of a dead day' and will see the band enter the studio for the first time in 10 years.

Mikee W Goodman adds " We did not realise our music had spread so far! I believe we have amongst the most passionate and energetic fans in the World. I am honoured to play to them."
"But what we have been asked most is about new music. My desire to make new SikTh music is as strong as it's ever been. I can't wait to get started!"

Recording starts this summer with a November release date penned, it will also be the first time SikTh will make a record without the assistance of a record label.

"Since we have such a good relationship with our fans we decided that funding the E.P via a PledgeMusic campaign was the best option for us and them. We could have signed a deal but it just adds so many complications for a band like us" adds Weller.

In support of the new EP SikTh will also be returning to the stage in December with a string of headline dates in the UK.

The first tickets for the tour will be made available via the bands PledgeMusic page below:

"We can't believe that racism still exists in the twenty first century. We're all human beings living on the same planet, the only home we've ever known. The atrocities that our species have committed towards each other isn't even summed up by the word 'horrific.' We all eat, sleep, and have two eyes, two arms, two legs and a nose. We really aren't all that different from each other. 'Our souls are like one another, our veins are similar in colour'– You think society would have figured it out by now that the real issue isn't the difference between our neighbour, but our inability to work together towards a common goal; sustaining here on planet Earth."

Having been featured in Kerrang!, Rock Sound and honoured with the prestigious title of Rockest Record In The World by Dan P Carter at Radio 1 (for lead single 'Breakaway'), In Hearts Wake are set to become one of the scene's breakthrough bands. The Byron Bay quartet will play Download this summer and return later in the year for a series of live dates TBA.

Another Way To Shine // Mantra III // Ad Astra // On Fire
LP Reissues via Music For Nations – June 29th

If ever there were albums that deserved to played on vinyl, they would be the Spiritual Beggars records ‘Another Way To Shine’, ‘Mantra III’, ‘Ad Astra’ and ‘On Fire’. Originally available between 1996 and 2002, their release on June 29th is part of the Music for Nations reissues series. With liner notes by guitarist and founder member Michael Amott, new artwork by Per Wiberg, each album is to be released on coloured vinyl (three on LP for the first time) and a free CD version of the album with bonus tracks.

Formed by Michael Amott in 1993, Spiritual Beggars were quite different from his previous endeavours in Carcass and Carnage as well as his duties as strings-man in Arch Enemy. Influenced by the hard rock giants of the 1970s with healthy doses of psychedelia, each album is unashamedly a head down Rock record.

Michael comments. "I’m very pleased to be working with the relaunched Music For Nations label on these Spiritual Beggars vinyl reissues. I am very proud of these four albums and we've worked hard on making these LPs something well worth the long wait! I can speak for everyone in the band when I say that we are very much looking forward to seeing and hearing these albums on vinyl for the first time!"

The Grammy (Sweden) nominated ‘Another Way To Shine’, release in 1996, and their first for Music for Nations, featured Christian “Spice” Sjöstrand on vocal and bass and Ludwig Witt on drums. Keyboardist Per Wiberg came along for the ride as the band returned two years later for the release of ‘Mantra III’. The sound was of a band getting into their stride and becoming leaders in the genre which some have labelled Stoner Rock, although the band were more comfortable to simply be called a Rock band. 2000 saw the release of the groundbreaking ‘Ad Astra’. The release, led by single ‘Angel of Betrayal’, saw the band take to the road nonstop for almost two years. ‘On Fire’, their last album for Music For Nations, saw some changes as Spice moved onto other projects and Janne "JB" Christoffersson joined on vocals with Roger Nilsson on bass. It ended a four album run for MFN, but the band are still a touring and releasing albums, and these albums still sound strong and as excited as they did when originally released.

Working with Michael, Music for Nations have lovingly revisited these records and with new visuals and coloured vinyl. We are working with Pledge Music to bring you these classic records on the format it deserves to be listened on.
