MELECHESH New album ‘Enki’ out in February 2015

Founded by a young guitarist - who adopted the alias Ashmedi - in the city of Jerusalem back in 1993,MELECHESH has always been a visionary band that invented a genre of its own.

On February 9th 2015 MELECHESH will release the follow up album to their 2010 masterpiece ‘The Epigenesis’, entitled ‘Enki’.

‘Enki’s tracklisting reads as follows:

01. Tempest Temper Enlil Enraged

02. The Pendulum Speaks

03. Lost Tribes

04. Multiple Truths

05. Enki - Divine Nature Awoken

06. Metatron And Man

07. The Palm The Eye And Lapis Lazuli

08. Doorways To Irkala

09. The Outsiders

Almost all of the music and lyrics were written and produced by Ashmedi once again.

MELECHESH spent one month in their rehearsal room in Hinzweiler (Germany) preparing material before entering the recording studio in Athens, Greece. They chose a Mediterranean location to capture the essence of the band’s origins.

For a heavier and subtly richer harmonic sound, ‘Enki’ features 12 string electric guitars alongside a standard 6 string played on the entire album. MELECHESH tuned their instruments to the pitch perfect 432 Hz frequency rather than the standardized 440 Hz, for a deeper sonic experience within the human psyche, and in accordance to the vibrations of the universe. ‘Enki’ also features esteemed friends of MELECHESH, including guest vocalists Max Cavalera and Sakis Tolis as well as guest lead by Rob Caggiano.

With so many nationalities in the band MELECHESH have become more comfortable at being labelled as an act from planet earth or just Jerusalem without adhering to any man-made virtual borders.

MELECHESH have presented a deep and personal album filled with metaphors, spiritual and philosophical references, and further development of their own Mesopotamian metal. The band shows that they are yet again ready to spread their sonic magic, enlightened revelations and art to the cosmos.

Scott Ian’s Speaking Words In Glasgow DVD Review

Rock and Metal is now coming up to its 50th anniversary at the end of the decade so you bet your bottom pound that the guys and gals have a bunch of killer stories of debauchery, antics and downright filthy behaviour that used to radiate from the rock world.

50 years is a long stretch and certainly those with 30+ years can regale us with a tale or two.

Step up Scott Ian, co-founder of Anthrax one of the big 4 of Thrash Metal alongside Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth.

Since he has toured the world for the past 30 years, be in contact with thousands of musicians and a bunch of fans along the way, he has definitely got a tale for you and Spoken I mean Swearing Words Tour is basically his way of sitting down with you like a mate and giving you the dirt.

From his first encounter with the one and only Lemmy from Motorhead back almost 30 years ago, with enthralling twists in the tale of Scott’s first proper drinking session with the seasoned pro to shitting himself a few hours later before a trip to Germany on a whirlwind promo tour where he disgusted a German doctor with the sheer sight of his soiled underpants.

To the infamous late Dimebag Darrell, whose antics have become as much of his legend as his guitar playing, who pranked his way through the rock world so it would be a mystery if he never managed to try his luck with Scott. Well he most certainly did, armed with the late Dave Williams as the faithful accomplice and Scott informing us of Dave’s fantastic Sebastian Bach impression, they both manage to fool Scott in the early hours of the morning, yet Scott is not one for backing down and manages to get his own back on Darrell a few years later.

There’s also a question round, funny and without doubt Scott fires from the hip even when it comes to some rather awkward questions about who the worst band or guy they’ve toured with, to bringing down the barriers on the almighty Slayer and their non-smile policy.

So boiling down this DVD or more to the case the Spoken Word tours that are currently being pushed? Well Scott Ian’s comes across as one of the best, he plays himself, a down to earth, funny nerd who knows more about Star Wars than even this writer, so don’t expect any egotistical nonsense from this guy.

This is a cool and pretty intimate show which is almost boiled down to a pub chat with a mate, although that chat is with Scott Ian.

9/10- Scott Ian brings the noise.

INGESTED Unleash Video For 'The Divine Right Of Kings' Announce London Album Launch Show

INGESTED have unleashed a brand new lyric video for their first cut off 'The Architect Of Extinction'; the fiery pit anthem 'The Divine Right Of Kings', which showcases the Mancunian slam crew at their most ferocious.

Watch the video here:

Jason Evans (vocals) comments: " 'The Divine Right Of Kings' is the first track of 'The Architect Of Extinction', and it picks up the pace directly from where 'Revered By No One, Feared By All' ended. This is hateful narcissism of the highest order, drowning in crushing slams and machine gun blastbeats. The lyric video was made by Craig Gowans (Bleed From Within) and he's done an incredible job. This is the perfect introduction to our new album, and we hope you have as much fun listening to it as we did creating it!"

INGESTED return with their heaviest offering yet in the form of 'The Architect Of Extinction', mixed by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) and featuring mind blowing artwork from Toshihiro Egawa (who also did the artwork for the band’s debut record).

'The Architect Of Extinction' track-listing:

1. The Divine Right Of Kings
2. Narcissistic Apathy
3. Endless Despondency
4. The Heirs To Mankind's Atrocities
5. I, Despoiler
6. Penance
7. A Nightmare Incarnate
8. Extinction Event
9. Amongst Vermin
10. Rotted Eden

'The Architect Of Extinction' will be released January 12th on Century Media Records in Europe and January 27th in North America (digital only). To coincide with the release of the brand new album 'The Architect of Extinction', INGESTED have teamed up with Old Empire to bring their brand of Mancunian Death to London in form of a record release show @ The Black Heart on 24th January 2015. Lyn Jeffs (drums) comments: “On Saturday 24th January 2015 we will be playing The Black Heart in Camden Town with support from London's finest technical brutal death outfit UNFATHOMABLE RUINATION and the second cities most ferocious beatdown crew SENTENCED. Make sure you mark this one in your calendars and come slam with us in January!”

ENTER SHIKARI surprised fans last night by unleashing a new track via a static video on youtube. 'Never Let Go Of The Microscope' can be heard here

This track is taken from their forthcoming album, ‘THE MINDSWEEP’ will be released on January 19th 2015 and comes almost exactly three years to the day after the release of the band’s last full-length album. That album, ‘A Flash Flood Of Colour’, entered the UK midweek chart at #1 and continued the band’s journey both musically and physically, touring around the world at least twice during the album campaign and seeing large sold out shows in territories as far-flung as Russia, Indonesia and Weston-Super-Mare.

Following December 2014 shows in Spain and Japan, Enter Shikari kick off 2015 with touring across Europe and the UK.Tickets for the band’s show at London’s Camden Roundhouse sold out within 12 hours of going on sale, so a second night was quickly added.

IMPERICON, the UK's hottest and fastest-growing metal and hardcore festival is delighted to announce the addition of two new bands to its already impressive 2015 bill. The festival, which sold out last year and has cheaper tickets this year, is bringing together an uncompromisingly heavy lineup, adding THE GHOST INSIDE and WHITECHAPEL alongside ADEPT and DEEZ NUTS for the Manchester leg of the tour. Set aside May 04 as it looks set to be one of the most raucous festival dates in the UK calendar next year.

Stay tuned for many more exciting updates.

THE GHOST INSIDE and WHITECHAPEL couldn′t be more different in terms of their musical styles - but they both have at least one point in common, both releasing 2014 contenders for 2014 album of the year.

2015 will not be the first IMPERICON appearance for THE GHOST INSIDE, who previously played Leipzig three years ago. Since then the melodic hardcore act have grown and redefined their sound, which they have displayed impressively with their new album.

WHITECHAPEL play their first IMPERICON festival, following their impressive new album release at the beginning of summer 2014. Although classed within the new era of deathcore bands, the American outfit are responsible for dragging the genre out of its corner and helping to unleash its true potential.

Swedish metal band, TRIBULATION, and Century Media Records are proud to announce a worldwide deal to spread the band’s upcoming aural horrors. The band is in the studio right now to record its third album which is expected to be released in April 2015 after wrapping up a US tour with genre titans Behemoth and Cannibal Corpse.

The band comments: “We are very pleased to announce that we have signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. Our journey has been slow but steady, but it is now time for us to stretch our black wings further throughout the world and we are sure that Century Media Records is the label that can help us do that.

Die Todten reiten schnell…* In early December we will once again enter the studio, this time to record our third album. We have covered ourselves in the darkness of the divine and the ghastly and have emerged with something that we truly believe in. Though it is an album that is in every inch TRIBULATION, expect nothing and let the music take you to the unexpected. It is a journey in its own right, for us to travel with the music that we make and at each turn it takes we are closing in on a goal that is hopefully forever out of our reach. Thus, we now prepare to die to let a new shape of the vampyre return in 2015.”
(* Gottfried August Bürger, 1773)

Jens Prueter, Head Of A&R Century Media Records Europe, is equally pleased: “I first saw TRIBULATION in July 2011 in a small club in Oberhausen and was impressed by their unique kind of Death Metal. Their debut album was deeply rooted in the mid to late 80’s Death/Thrash/Black Metal but far away from a retro, old school sound. They took all classic influences and created their own universe - even more with the second album which was far beyond the formulas of death metal. I’m glad we had a good talk and cold beers back in 2011, and always remained in contact. Looking forward to working with them and help them to progress into something even bigger and darker.”

TRIBULATION formed in 2004 in the west of Sweden and quickly gained underground reputation with their first demo and the “Putrid Rebirth” EP in 2006. The first album “The Horror” (2009) was followed by various tours and festivals across Europe. After the release of “The Formulas Of Death” (2013), the band played even more festivals and completed their first US tour with Watain and In Solitude as well as most recently also a tour through Poland together with Behemoth. Be prepared for 2015, Springtime will be sinister...

Engel - "Raven Kings" New Album Out Now

This is the band's fourth album, produced by founder and songwriter, In Flames' Niclas Engelin. To capture something incredible, you need to have a team enlisted to execute the vision, and Engel called upon the talents of close friends and colleagues Jocke Skog (Clawfinger) for the monstrous guitar sound design, Jacob Hermann (Top Floor Studios) for recording the Hammer of the Gods, Jacob Hansen (Hansen Studios) for mastering the Wall of Sound, and Joachim Luetke ( for crafting this Sinister Vision.

Watch the world premiere for the lead track "Salvation" today at Muzu TV:

Engel emerged on to the world stage with the release of the critically acclaimed debut album ABSOLUTE DESIGN in 2007. THRENODY followed in 2010 overseas, and January, 2011 in North America, with the band's third album BLOOD OF SAINTS being issued in the Fall of 2012 stateside. Engel is Mikael Sehlin (Vocals), Marcus Sunesson (Guitar), Steve Drennan (Bass) and Oscar Nilsson (Drums).

Engel's three albums have established the band as a force to be reckoned with in the metal community, and RAVEN KINGS exhibits the true promise the quintet has been evolving towards. Founder and principal songwriter Niclas Engelin offers, "Your definitive soundtrack to any action / mindgame ps4 game!" Guitarist Marcus Sunesson adds, "Raven Kings will bring you Salvation. The ultimate album in a perfect storm." Engelin has a long history with In Flames, first as a periodic touring guitarist from 1997 - 2011, and now as a full-time official member of the band.

The complete track listing of RAVEN KINGS is "Salvation," "Your Shadow Haunts You," "Denial," "Fading Light," "My Dark Path," "I Am The Answer," "When The Earth Burns," "End Of Days," "Sanctuary," "Broken Pieces," "Hollow Soul."

ENSLAVED Diary of Mad Men, part VI

Norwegian progressive extreme metallers ENSLAVED offer their sixth installment in the seven-part “Diary of Mad Men” series shedding insight into the band’s upcoming as-yet-untitled thirteenth studio album, set for an early 2015 release.

“It’s our last day in Duper Studios before we move across the hall into Solslottet Studios for the next Metal Olympics event: Grutle’s vocals!” states an enthusiastic Ivar Bjørnson, ENSLAVED’s guitarist & composer. “It has been a great week and the best possible start for this process that will end up in some kind of epic release early next year. Today I’ve been laying down some e-bow Fripp-worship, some atmospheric guitars so soaked in reverb and echo that the speakers are wet, some Mellotron keys, and even a line or two of the good old piano.”

“It’s more aggressive”, adds album co-producer Iver Sandøy about the new material, “balancing the progressive feel of the previous few albums with a more evident nod to the band’s darker history.”

Main recordings for the new album are taking place at Duper and Solslottet Studios in Bergen, Norway with additional recordings done at Conclave & Earshot Studios (presided over by ENSLAVED members Larsen and Ice Dale), and Ivar Bjørnson’s Peersonal Sound Studios.

Additional experimentation and sonic exploration will be conducted deep in the woods of Valevåg south of Bergen where the band took a mobile studio to record the infamous ‘Thorn’ 7” single in 2012.

Album number thirteen is being produced by band members Ivar Bjørnson, Grutle Kjellson & Herbrand Larsentogether with Iver Sandøy. Mixing will be done by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden.

Artwork will be illustrated by long-time collaborating artist and “sixth ENSLAVED member” Truls Espedal, who has painted all seven album covers since 2001’s ‘Monumension’.

2012’s studio release, ‘RIITIIR’, garnered ENSLAVED a seventh nomination for a Spellemann Award (the Norwegian equivalent of the American Grammy) in the category of “Best Metal Album.” They have won a Spellemann Award four consecutive times for the following four studio albums: ‘Axioma Ethica Odini’ (2010), ‘Vertebrae’ (2008), ‘Ruun’ (2006), and ‘Isa’ (2004).

‘RIITIIR’ can be purchased in CD & vinyl format from the following links here and here.

‘WONDER DAYS’ the brand new studio album released on 16th February 2015 via earMUSIC

Headline Arena Shows in March

One of the most popular and enduring British rock bands of the last 25 years, with 18 Top 40 singles in the UK and a string of gold and platinum albums around the world, Thunder are set to release their landmark tenth studio album, ‘Wonder Days’, on earMUSIC on February 16th 2015.

The group’s first studio album in six years, ‘Wonder Days’ reminds us why Thunder are now more revered than ever before. With a lineage dating back to the cream of hard rock – Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, The Who and Deep Purple and songwriting greats such as The Kinks, The Beatles and The Faces – the band’s sound is a timeless marriage of unforgettable melodies and sheer rock power. Their long-awaited return with ‘Wonder Days’ should ensure that Thunder are elevated to their rightful place in the pantheon of truly great British bands.

In parts a rumination and reflection on the dreams and desires of young men growing up in the 70’s that inspired the band members to form their first band in their early teens, ‘Wonder Days’ is also a potent mix of blues, soul and rock’n’roll that is as contemporary as it is steeped in the finest music of the last few decades.

From the epic Zeppelin-esque title track, through the no-holds-barred pop prowess of potential hit singles ‘The Thing I Want’, ‘Resurrection Day’ and ‘Black Water’, to the big-screen ballad ‘Broken’, Thunder have delivered one of the finest rock albums of recent years.

While the galloping drive of ‘The Prophet’ comes on like an unholy union of Iron Maiden and Whitesnake, the sensual ‘Serpentine’ drips with an archaic Deep South blues vibe before turning into a Royal Blood meets The Raconteurs style stomp. ‘Chasing Shadows’ has all the swagger of primetime Aerosmith while the affecting, mandolin-driven folk tinges of ‘The Rain’ sounds ethereally ageless.

Throughout the album Danny Bowes’ vocals showcase just why he is one of the greatest rock vocalists of his generation; a true foil to guitarist Luke Morley’s powerhouse riffs, scintillating melodies and delicate acoustic strumming.

Though making a good recovery from the tonsil cancer that excluded him from the band’s recent live appearances, rhythm guitarist Ben Matthews has been sadly absent from the sessions so Morley has taken charge of all the guitars and keyboards on the album, with the ever-present Garry ‘Harry’ James on drums and long-term bassist Chris Childs on bass providing the striking rhythmic back-bone to the band.

Recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, with Luke Morley reprising his role as producer, the album was mixed by the renowned Mike Fraser, whose CV includes such names as Aerosmith, AC/DC and Metallica and who worked on several of the group’s key early records including their celebrated debut, ‘Back Street Symphony’.

Thunder hit the road in March with dates in Leeds, Birmingham and London, with Reef and Tax The Heat as support.

SANCTUARY announce European tour

A lot of fans were both surprised and delighted to hear that iconic Seattle metal band SANCTUARY were to reform and continue recording. And the surprise was even bigger once the album “The Year The Sun Died” came out this October. While not attempting to imitate 1989’s classic “Into The Mirror Black” neither following the path of Sanctuary’s immediate follow-up act Nevermore, “The Year The Sun Died” was heartily welcomed by fans and media alike honoring both band’s immortal legacy with its dark and diverse brand of classic metal. If you don’t believe the hype, check out the video for the song 'Frozen' :

Now, SANCTUARY are proud to announce the next chance to witness old and new songs live in Europe! The tour starts with a very special show in London before they join the mighty Overkill fro a run of mainland shows while finishing the trip with two headlining gigs in Greece.

“Offering plenty of flashes of musical dexterity while keeping things fairly snappy and concise, this is sure to appeal to more than just hungry Nevermore fans.” Metal Hammer (UK), 8 out of 10 points

“The reunited band sound stronger than before and more musical and emotive than ever. This is a truly great album that is passionate and beautiful in every facet, while still retaining a true metal fee.” Powerplay (UK), 8 out of 8 points

AGNOSTIC FRONT To begin recording their new album next month

Seminal NYC hardcore veterans, AGNOSTIC FRONT, will enter Buzzbomb Sound Labs on December 5th to begin recording their 11th studio album. The session will be handled by Paul Miner (TERROR, H2O, ATREYU, DEATH BY STEREO, ETC.), who will be engineering, mixing and mastering the release. Artwork and layout will be handled by artist Todd Huber, who also works with vocalist Roger Miret’s clothing line American Made Kustom.

"We are excited to be working with Paul Miner at Buzzbomb Sound Labs on our new record which we are calling The American Dream Died,” comments Miret. “This recording promises to be mean, fast and furious; with elements of our classic styles, adding chaotic blasts of real old school hardcore!"

These rarely confronted and always respected leaders of hardcore were established as one of the meanest-sounding bands in the emerging punk genre, helping to initiate the term "hardcore", and placing an entire uproar on the New York map by association. From the start, AGNOSTIC FRONT released a catalogue of fast and violent punk tunes consisting of distinctive and aggressive drumming, fuming guitars, overdriven bass work, and a non-stop barrage of chaotic shouting.

AGNOSTIC FRONT’s latest record, ‘My Life My Way’, was released in March 2011. It features 13 powerful and anthemic songs laid down by Erik Rutan (MADBALL, GOATWHORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, etc.) at his Mana Recording Studio in Tampa, FL under the watchful guide of producerFreddy Cricien of MADBALL. The record was mastered by none other than Alan Douches (NILE,MASTODON, etc.). You can order your copy online here.

French boogie death metallers Trepalium announce new EP

Every so often there comes along a band who injects the mental back into metal; a band who reminds us all of the importance of simply having a good time. Stepping into the frame are French boogie death metal/swing metallers TREPALIUM, who are pleased to announce their new EP Voodoo Moonshine, scheduled for UK release on February 9th.

Have a watch of the first video from the EP here:

A tantalisingly unique cocktail of death metal attitude and 1930s-esque New Orleans jazz swing and bounce and booze, Voodoo Moonshine is Trepalium's fifth studio release. A short but sweet collection combining voodoo mysticism and prohibition speakeasy culture, Trepalium serve up an enticingly potent form of foot-tapping groove metal. So strong is the swing that you’ll find yourself nodding along automatically – any listener who can resist the urge is either amazingly strong-willed, or just stone deaf. Keep an ear out for the band's accompanying jazz woodwind/brass group, as well as the appearance of Gojira’s Joseph Duplantier on track 2, Damballa’s Voodoo Ball.

An active band for 13 years, Trepalium are well-known in their native France. Having already sold thousands of albums and undertaken two tours with Gojira, as well as playing Hellfest four times, Trepalium are sure to draw many more listeners under their voodoo hoodoo.

AT THE GATES unveil video for 'Heroes And Tombs' UK tour starting next week

Swedish melodic Death Metal pioneers AT THE GATES continue to promote their comeback studio album and Century Media Records debut 'At War With Reality' and have now launched a new video clip for the track 'Heroes And Tombs'.

The stunning animated clip was created by Costin Chioreanu / Twilight 13 Media, who also designed the elaborated artwork for the 'At War With Reality' album - check it out here:

AT THE GATES vocalist and lyricist Tomas Lindberg checked in about the video as follows: "I am very proud to be able to present the second video from AWWR, "Heroes And Tombs". To have Costin work on one of our songs this way has been very rewarding. It's like the next step of the album artwork, and basically more than I could have ever hoped for. Costin paints up a fevered and dark nightmare world that complements the lyrics and music up to the point of perfection. Now I just have to go convince him to do a full length movie for the whole album… ;-)"
